Pecos Eagles Varsity Overcomes Alpine In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning

Pecos Eagles Varsity claimed a 8-4 victory on Friday, despite a big push by Alpine in the first inning. Alpine scored its runs on a single by B Crump.

In the first inning, Alpine got their offense started when Crump singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the second inning, Pecos Eagles Varsity tied things up at three. Pecos Eagles Varsity scored two runs when Jaydon Muniz doubled.

Pecos Eagles Varsity pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Andres Mendoza doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

Pecos Eagles Varsity put up three runs in the fourth inning. Jesse Navarette and Damian Lujan each had RBIs in the big inning.

Navarette took the win for Pecos Eagles Varsity. The pitcher lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out eight.

J Morris took the loss for Alpine. The pitcher allowed six hits and five runs over two and a third innings, striking out four.
Chris Gomez started the game for Pecos Eagles Varsity. The bulldog lasted two and a third innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out three.

Pecos Eagles Varsity collected ten hits on the day. Muniz and Mendoza each collected multiple hits for Pecos Eagles Varsity. Mendoza and Muniz each collected two hits to lead Pecos Eagles Varsity.

Alpine was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Aaron Lara made the most plays with seven.
