The Lady Eagles won a pair of individual championships and added a runner up on their way to placing 3rd as a team at the Regional Meet.

Miray Rodriguez and Lyla Villarreal led the team with championships in their respective weight classes. Miray set a personal best on squat and deadlift on her way to a 1000 pound total. With her lifts she garnered the top lift awards for each of those lifts as well as being named the top overall lifter for the heavyweight platform. Lyla set a PR on squat and tied her best deadlift to win her weight class.

Chassidy Jurado finished as runner up in her weight class with PR's on all 3 lifts and totals. She had a great day, going 9 for 9 on her lift attempts. Abigail Gallegos rounded out the team scoring with a 3rd place finish as she overcame some struggles on deadlift to set a new best on the lift.

All 4 ladies have qualified for the state meet in Corpus Christi and will be joined by Janice Hernandez who finished 6th in her class. All 5 will compete on Friday, March 19th starting at 8 am.

The other 3 lifters had good days as they set or tied their personal bests on 2 lifts each. Courtney Hollon, a senior competing in her first regional meet, finished with a new best on deadlift and had the highest total of her career with 475. Adrianna Soto and Haylie Gonzalez each set a best on squat and deadlift on their way to career best totals.
