Pecos Lady Eagles Varsity Falls to Alpine on Walk-off

A walk-off left Pecos Lady Eagles Varsity on the wrong end of an 11-10 defeat to Alpine on Tuesday. The game was tied at ten with Alpine batting in the bottom of the seventh when A Hinojos singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Despite the loss, Pecos Lady Eagles Varsity did collect 16 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Alpine had 17 hits on the way to victory.

Alpine took an early lead in the first inning when A Rodriguez drew a walk, scoring one run.

After Pecos Lady Eagles Varsity scored four runs in the top of the fifth, Alpine answered with four of their own. Pecos Lady Eagles Varsity scored when Jasiah Salas doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Monique Dominguez singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, Haydn Stewart singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Miray Rodriguez tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. Alpine then answered when S Valenzuela grounded out, scoring one run and P Vargas singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

H Juett pitched Alpine to victory. The fireballer went seven innings, allowing ten runs on 16 hits and striking out five.

Elizabeth Levario took the loss for Pecos Lady Eagles Varsity. The righty allowed four hits and four runs over two-thirds of an inning.

Pecos Lady Eagles Varsity had 16 hits in the game. Camryn Devivo, Dominguez, Levario, Salas, Aubri Reyes, and Jocelyn Tarango each racked up multiple hits for Pecos Lady Eagles Varsity. Dominguez and Devivo all had three hits to lead Pecos Lady Eagles Varsity. Pecos Lady Eagles Varsity stole nine bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Devivo led the way with three.

Alpine racked up 17 hits on the day. Z Aunniz, Rodriguez, Vargas, K Castillo, and J Portillo all managed multiple hits for Alpine. Alpine was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Rodriguez had the most chances in the field with nine.
